Environmentally friendly hollow wooden surfboards built in North West Ireland

Cedar surfboards grew from an idea of sustainable surf equipment, into a company producing fine hand crafted hollow wood and epoxy surfboards.

Our blanks are built from thin Cedar wood strips laminated over a skeletal framework. These are then laminated with cloth and epoxy resin to produce a lightweight and durable surfboard.

The timber we use is Canadian Western Red Cedar, a lightweight, strong and renewable material, that looks as well as it surfs.

Polyurethane and EPS (expanded polystyrene) surfboard blanks are extremely fragile. Surfboards using them only get their strength through a stringer and lots of fibreglass cloth and resin. Our hollow wooden blanks are strong and rigid long before being glassed. This allows us to produce stronger, longer lasting surfboards.

Not only are the raw materials used in our boards far more environmentally sound, but our boards also last much longer than conventional boards. This means you won’t have to replace your board as often, saving you money and the environment.
