Surfboards made from polyurethane foam get pressure dings quite easily from routine use, while moulded epoxy surfboards have brittle outer layers that crack easily. Wooden surfboards glassed with epoxy will only pressure ding with consirerable impact. Epoxy resins degrade in sunlight. For this reason mass produced epoxy surfboards are covered in an opaque outer layer. Our wooden surfboards are coated with a UV filtering laquer which can easily be removed and replaced over the years as the board collects scratches. space  |
