| HOME | The slight weight difference between our wooden boards and standard surfboards has both pros and cons. A standard foam surfboard will be more suitable for surfing comps. However on a solid day with a stiff offshore, the extra momentum you get from paddling the slightly heavier wooden board will be the difference between almost catching the wave and catching it. In fast waves the wooden board will fly along the section with more speed and momentum due to the extra bit of weight. Tow-in boards and big wave guns are intentionally made heavier for this reason. space ![]() |
